Summery Peach and Soft Brown Cut Crease | Makeup Geek

Hi! So I have been slacking for about 5 weeks. My life is insane right now and I was feeling beyond stressed. But I’m starting to calm down, so back to the blog!

I placed my first Makeup Geek Cosmetics order and received it this past Friday. I am in love. I ordered the large, magnetic Z Palette and filled it with 27 shadows of my choice.

I used 5 of them to create this easy, summery cut crease look. I listed the shadows I used below 🙂

Primed my eyes with Urban Decay Shadow Potion in Eden

Makeup Geek Shadows:

Transition color – Peach Smoothie

Crease – Mocha

Lid – In the Spotlight (obsessed with this one!!)

Highlight under my brow and tear duct – Voltage

I’ll be playing around with my new palette so there will be more Makeup Geek looks to come!

Shrimp & Bacon Quesadillas🍴

Not my usual blog post, but I made these last night and they are WAY too good not to share.

Quesadillas are one of the most flexible entrees to make & one of my absolute favorites. Who doesn’t love melted cheese on a tortilla, topped with sour cream, salsa & guac?

I love my chicken fajita quesadillas, but I wanted to switch it up a bit. I came across a recipe on Pinterest, made a couple of my own changes & voila! One of the best quesadillas I have ever had. My husband actually said they were THE best.. which is a lot coming from him.

Bacon – 10 slices

Baby Shrimp, cooked – about 10 oz (If you can’t find baby shrimp, buy regular shrimp and cut them a bit after you cook them)

Garlic Clove, minced – 1

Jalapeno, diced – 1

Yellow Onion, medium, chopped – 1

Crushed Red Pepper – to taste

Olive Oil – 3 tbsp.

Gruyere Cheese, shredded – 16oz

Flour Tortillas – 6

  1. Cook the bacon 3-5 minutes on each side, then transfer to a paper towel lined plate. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease. Once the bacon is all cooked, roughly chop it.
  2. Put the 2 tablespoons of bacon grease back in the pan. Add the garlic, onion and jalapeno & cook until the onions and peppers are translucent. About 8 minutes.
  3. Cook the shrimp in a separate pan with 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil. Add crushed red pepper to taste and a teeny tiny bit of salt.
  4. Add the shrimp to the onions, peppers & garlic. Turn off the heat and stir to combine.
  5. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  6. Line a large baking sheet with foil.
  7. Take one tortilla (which will be the bottom tortilla) and brush it with olive oil. Place it oil side down on the baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle the Gruyere cheese (which is delicious btw), 1/3 of the chopped bacon & 1/3 of the shrimp/onion/pepper mixture onto the tortilla. Sprinkle a bit more cheese on top & place another tortilla on top. Lightly brush that tortilla with olive oil.
  9. Repeat with the remaining ingredients. You should be able to make 3 quesadillas.
  10. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the tortilla is golden and crisp.
  11. Serve with avocado slices & sour cream. I skipped the salsa for this quesadilla.

***If you’re like me & you absolutely love cheese (who doesn’t?), buy an extra container of the Gruyere cheese.

Easy ways to get your skin glowing for Spring☀️

Colder weather can leave your skin feeling dry and tight, and even look a bit flaky. Living in the indoor heat can leave our complexions looking aged.

Spring is a time for rejuvenation. It’s the perfect occasion to pamper your skin!

Exfoliate:  Removing dry, dull skin leaves your skin looking and feeling smooth, plus it allows your products to penetrate more effienciently. You should be exfoliating 2-3 times a week to get your complexion glowing.

I recommend LimeLight by Alcone’s Skin Polish. It contains jojoba beads which exfoliate effectively without causing any damage to the skin. Your complexion is left feeling smooth and it smells AMAZING! (Like lemons🍋) Plus it’s all natural and paraben-free, so it isn’t loaded with chemicals that can irritate your skin.

It’s $38, but you don’t need much so it lasts forever. I use it all over my face and neck twice a week. You can find it at

Serum: I love following it up with my Sotox Serum. It makes my skin feel brand new. It’s a super effective serum that contains a blend of firming, brightening and age-reversing actives found in the algae called Pullulan. It also contains the extract from the Songyi mushroom which lifts sagging skin, smooths wrinkles and reverses stress induced aging. I use a pump every morning and night and my bottles last me about 3 months. It’s $42 and can be found at

It’s also paraben free and all natural. Follow your serum up with a good moisturizer and your skin will look as good as new!

My last two tips are to stay hydrated and clean up your diet. Drinking enough water and eating whole, unprocessed foods will do wonders for your complexion!🍽🍊🍉🍌🍒🍳

Happy Spring!

Dodo Lashes Review

Dodo lashes sent me a gorgeous pair of mink lashes to review, and I am seriously in love!

I tried style d119. They’re glam enough for a night time look, but they’re not too dramatic to wear during the day with lighter makeup. I am absolutely obsessed.

All of their mink lashes are $5 and their 3D minks are $12 which is super affordable. I am used to paying $35-$40 or $20 if I am lucky enough to find a decent pair on Amazon. It looks like I will be stocking up on lashes when I place an order 🙂
